Also check out the variable $copy, setting $record doesn't do anything
if $copy is "no". You probably want to also have
set copy=yes
or perhaps: set copy=ask-yes, if you want to be prompted whether to
save a copy or not. The default value for $copy is "yes", but maybe
you have it set to some other value.
