I understand this issue has been explained many times. I've looked at the list archive, manual, and the FAQ but still having problems. Please excuse me for asking this question again. I'm getting the "Mailbox is read-only". I believe this is because I did not setgid (not that I know what it is). I'm not a root on our SGI system. First I tried to circumvent the problem by trying to forward the mail to a file in my home directory. But the mail bounces back with the following message: ----- Transcript of session follows ----- 550 /users2/rotatmac/svryk/.forward: line 2: /users2/rotatmac/svryk/mail.log... User [EMAIL PROTECTED] doesn't have a valid shell for mailing to files Question #1: What shell do I need to write to files? I can forward to an e-mail address without any problem. We have sendmail. Question #2: What's my other option besides calling my sys admin? Comment out 'define USE_DOTLOCK 1' in config.h and recompile? I've installed Pine as a user without any problem. Mutt seems to be little more tricky. TIA -------------------------------------- Robert W. Kim e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] --------------------------------------
