It sounds like the MIME-headers were messed up during quoting or
forwarding, or something like that. If you know a bit about MIME you
could copy the message into a temporary mailbox and edit that mailbox
with emacs to add or correct the headers by hand. Or just pipe the
message into mimencode -u and hope for the best.
