First of all, create your ~/user. It's not recommended
to work under "root".
Assuming, that you have installed mutt, crate under
your ~/user the .muttrc.
Samples of .muttrc I guess can be found at
www.mutt.org
But before, suggest you have a look on man page.
There are quite a few things worthwhile to be
read.
Just type in a console man mutt...
