Whoops, apologies for unclear trimming. The "they" that are from emacs
are the .saves-{pid}-{machine} files (qv Subject:), not the $TMPDIR/mutt*
ones, which as far as I know *are* from mutt (I believe they're the files
that Mutt hands off to your editor; if they're remaining behind, then your
editor is probably keeping backups (emacs keeps mutt-foo-{pid}-{num}~),
or Mutt's exiting uncleanly and not cleaning up after itself.
