Well, I'm going to take issue with your statement, but since I realize
you (and others reading) may not care :-), you can skip this part if
you wish. The answer to your question follows.

A lot of people seem to think that Eterm is "bloated" just because it
has a lot of features and a lot of graphical toys that other terminal
emulators don't have. While the latter part is certainly true, Eterm
does several things to cut down on "bloat:"
- Almost all of Eterm is a shared library (assuming your system
supports them), so the base code for each Eterm you run only amounts
to about 300K or so per Eterm, depending on your system. (On my
system, it's just over 200K.)
- It's themeable, so you can have as much or as little in the way of
graphical toys as you want. Once, just for fun, I created an "xterm"
theme for Eterm that looked, felt, and acted like xterm. Eterm used
less memory than xterm did with this theme.
- Should you desire a minimalist Eterm, you can compile out much of
the feature set.
Also, I find that most people who say Eterm is bloated haven't
actually tried customizing it to their tastes; most people find that
it's comparable to less feature-ful terminal programs when they do
so. And the 0.9 development series of Eterm that's in CVS is faster
and more featureful than ever. :-)
But if you've tried Eterm and have found rxvt is more what you need,
that's fine. Everyone should use what works best for them.

Eterm 0.9 uses graphical menus that work with the theme parser (which
is significantly faster than the old menubar parser), so you cannot
easily convert from those config files to rxvt's format. However,
Eterm 0.8.9 still used the old parser, so the format was identical.
You can still get Eterm 0.8.9 from www.eterm.org, and the mutt.menu
file it contains should work with rxvt without any changes, unless
they've changed their format since I last checked.
Also, if you want to customize the menubar, I encourage you to read
<http://www.eterm.org/Eterm_reference.html#menubar>. It gives a
better overview of how the menubar stuff works than anything I've seen
anywhere else.
