Keep in mind that Pine connects to the SMTP port to send the messages and
Mutt calls the binary directly. Check your ~/.muttrc to see if the sendmail
PATH is set correctly. Here I use Exim 3.02 and I only have a link, so here's
what I use:
set sendmail="/usr/lib/sendmail -oem -oi"
If it's not your problem, it's a Sendmail one (configuration?).
