hello,

i hope i'm not repeating something already covered. i've looked in the
archives and at various docs and i can't find any mention of this, but it's
been kind of a frantic search and i might have missed something....

i'm running red hat linux 6.0 on a 2.2.10 kernel. i compiled up mutt 0.95.6i
and installed it. when i ran it as a normal user, it just dumped. i tried it
again with "--enable-flocks --disable-fnctl", but nothing changed. i saw
mention of "--with-setgid" (or something like that) and tried adding that.
nothing. every time, it dumps. i tried running it as root and it also core
dumped. i tried using the 0.95.6i rpm (from the contrib ftp server) and it
also sigsegv'ed (though no core dump i believe). when i ran gdb on the core,
it seemed like it was dumping in something outside of mutt (the file it dumped
in was not in the mutt tarball). (if dump details are wanted, please let me
know and i'll be glad to furnish them.)

wondering if it might be something with 0.95.6i, i tried 0.95.5i. the source
tarball wouldn't compile. i tried the rpm and it works, but complains
("fcntl: No locks available (errno = 37)").

i have played with mutt before and i really think i'd like to move from exmh
to mutt, but this is driving me nuts. any ideas?

thanks,
pete
