Your message is not clear, exactly where is your:

1) Inbox: the usual is /var/spool/mail/rjpp (or in some spool directory
2) Folders: the usual is ~/mail

A few notes, in the .muttrc file you can set:

set folder=~/np-folders
set spoolfile=/var/spool/mail/rjpp

And, in Pine, there is no real file named INBOX, the actual file is set in
the .pinerc file, just like Mutt
