#3980: Can we integrate support for /etc/mailname? ------------------------+---------------------- Reporter: antonio@… | Owner: mutt-dev Type: defect | Status: new Priority: trivial | Milestone: Component: mutt | Version: 1.9.1 Resolution: | Keywords: patch ------------------------+----------------------
Comment (by code@…): {{{ TBH adding a config option for this just makes it more complex, adding additional code that is, for my money, completely unnecessary. I get that this provides some small benefit to Debian users, in that it provides a uniform way to configure all mail apps; but I think platform-specific changes belong in the platform, not in the upstream platform-neutral code base. But, like I said, my objection isn't a very strong one... and if other platforms benefit from having something like this via configurable option, like antonio suggest, that lessens my objection further still... provided the code to support them is the same. :) I'd like to hear what other contributors think. }}} -- Ticket URL: <https://dev.mutt.org/trac/ticket/3980#comment:5> Mutt <http://www.mutt.org/> The Mutt mail user agent
