I'd like to start things moving for a 1.6.0 release. As David and I talked about, this will be significant in at least a couple ways. It will be the first "stable" release of the long under development 1.5 branch (14+ years!). Additionally, we will be moving away from the odd/even release numbering scheme.
There are a few more things I want to finish up (the -E patch improvements and reviewing outstanding patches), so I propose the following schedule: - 3/19 last day for non-bugfix commits. translation strings frozen. - 3/20 notify translators. - 4/2 create rc tarball. - 4/4 release. Comments welcome. If you haven't tried out hg tip in a while, now would be a good time to start testing it. As an aside, I know there was some vocal support for getting the trash patch(es) included. I've been taking a look at them, and am going to spend some more time on them the next week. At this point I'm leaning towards not including them in 1.6.0. However I do agree the functionality is useful, so even if they don't make it in for this release, please be assured I have not given up on them. -- Kevin J.
