 Running mutt in "batch" mode, when TERM is not set, causes mutt to run at
 about 100% CPU time.

 To reproduce:

  1) unset TERM

  2) mutt -s "subject" em...@address.com < /dev/null

  mutt -v produces:

  mutt -d5 produces nothing (the log file is not written before/after the
 process is killed).
