However getting patches in mutt is hard work. I remember getting the header cache into mutt took me one year full time. The problem was that Thomas Roessler didn't want to use it and at one point I got him in IRC and he tried it. Once he tried he merged it immediately for the IMAP part and later for the Maildir part.
