Solaris's sh is historically pretty ~~bad~~constrained, but has gotten
more compliant. I haven't touched HPUX since v9, so can't say.
If we can determine that there is a problem, we should fix it. If we only
think that there might be a problem, then we're shooting at phantoms and
perhaps introducing new problems.
