Just for the record: while the above works, Mutt would still freeze while such a message were not yet isolated and the address aliased. But! as I read about buggy wc-funcs in MacOS X, I built --without-wc-funcs, and lo and behold! the freeze is gone. Thanks for everybody's patience. Probably this should be documented/recommended somewhere. c
