​Thanks all for you help so far. Yes, trombonists these days don't like alto clef, so having a tenor clef version would be very welcome, and easy to do with lilypond.
Re lilypond versions - I normally just accept the version that comes thru automatically during updates from the repositories. I would be prepared to try the latest development version, when time permits me. I will also try installing that old version. I converted all the ly and ily files at the terminal using convert-ly -e, not via frescobaldi. Yes I grepped the word alto planning to simply replace it with tenor and rerun. Maybe during the long weekend coming up I'll have some time to explore these options.... cheers, Steve
