regarding http://wiki.musicbrainz.org/SoundtrackStyle
why should non-classical tracks on a soundtrack be forced into following
the classical music tracks artist? why does it matter if it's
_pre-existing_ non-classical or _brand new_ non-classical?
non-classical is non-classical is non-classical..

The mods that prompts this email to the list is from the Firefly
soundtracks [1] [2].
The first track is the shows theme song which was performed with vocals
by blues artist Sonny Rhodes. The writer of the series (Joss Wedon)
wrote the lyrics and the music to the song. But the song is obviously
NOT performed by him (Sonny Rhodes is an old man with a mature blues
voice.. Joss Wedon is probably the exact opposite as far as a performing
artist goes [you can hear Joss' demo of the song in the Firefly DVD
bonus section])

anyway.. i'd like to eventually see the line "For pre-existing
non-classical music, Artist should contain the performers." be changed
to "For non-classical music, Artist should contain the performers."
because forcing "new" non-classical music into a classical music format
for no other reason than it's new doesn't seem correct.
I can't think of any reason to credit a non-classical song in a
classical manor.. but i'm curious as if there is a reason why MB would.

i'd love to hear any thoughts on this as well as reason why it's
currently happening in such a way.
thanks.
