Dear Music-DSP list,
(Apologies for cross posting)

In less than a couple of weeks, the AES Show in NYC will host the first
Hackathon-style single-day edition of the MATLAB Plugin AES Student
Competition, organized by MathWorks and the Audio Engineering Society.

Contestants will be asked to create a VST plugin that emulates a real-world
audio effect, through improving a provided baseline MATLAB program, with the
goal of matching pre-captured test signals. The winning team takes home $2,000.
Participation can be both in-person and online.

Huge thanks to Prof. Eric Tarr (Hack Audio, Belmont University) for chairing
the technical challenge and leading a judging team of audio DSP academics and
Industry leaders.
