Hi all,

As far as I can see in /etc/profile you have:
# TMP and TEMP as defined in the Windows environment must be kept
# for windows apps, even if started from msys2. However, leaving
# them set to the default Windows temporary directory or unset
# can have unexpected consequences for msys2 apps, so we define
# our own to match GNU/Linux behaviour.
-------
What are those "unexpected consequences"?

Former msys mounted /tmp to the Windows temp:
C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\Temp on /tmp type user (binmode,noumount)

I think that having /tmp as a directory in msys2 is not that good
as it might be installed with no write access for the current user.

Cheers,
Adrian Pop/
