Thanks for the reply. But I already knew all that. As I said, "I am a windows programmer". I know the win32 api. I never asked for an explanation of windows programming. I was suggesting that "regular windows program" is vague and ill-defined. Also, my post very specifically related to curses applications. Finally, MSYS2 is also my shell of choice, I don't see why it needs mentioning.
