I'm sorry but i
n my opinion these update errors are severe issues, because it gives a
really bad impression to end users. Installing
MSYS2 is not easy,* if you ever become aware about the wiki instructions.*
If MSYS2 wants contributors, this problem needs attention. Ironically,
MinGW.org wins at this: we update the database and packages easily while
installing, and we get a ready-to-use environment after that.

To make things worse, I was installing MSYS2 to a possibly too long path
with a symlink to a spaced folder, and was using compression for backing up
the installation. Things are better now that I fixed it,* but this did not
put an end to pacman errors!* For example, when updating pkgfile and wget,
I need to --sync them again to get rid of the errors (I'm not sure if this
fixes anything but yoy may give it a try, Saúl).

I would say all this with patches if I could, but I think this feedback
from a new user's perspective could still be useful. So please note I'm not
complaining, all I'm saying is that in my opinion this needs priority,
because *annoyed users/contributors just **leave,* without any feedback,
and that would be a pity because MSYS2 is indeed worth them.
