Dear colleagues, we are going to roll out a new mpd4 release. Since last beta4 the change list is quite long, as well as amount of changed code. You should take a look at the changelist:
http://people.freebsd.org/~glebius/mpd/mpd5.html#5 Most work is done by Alexander Motin. He claims that now mpd4 is production ready, at least it is very well tested as PPPoE access concentrator. Before new release is committed to FreeBSD ports tree, two things should be done: 1) The brave ones should install it and report whether any regressions noticed or not. The port tarball is available here: http://people.freebsd.org/~glebius/mpd/mpd-port.tgz You should extract the port from the tarball and run make. The port will fetch the tarball from FreeBSD.org ftp site. (ATM, the old mpd tarball is hosted there. It will be resynced in few hours.) 2) Those who have patches for mpd4 should remind me about them. I'm orry, I've lost track on some of them. I've browsed the list for the last few months and applied those patches, that fix are applicablet to mpd4. Please don't remind about patches that are mpd3-specific, or were explicitly rejected in the past. -- Totus tuus, Glebius.
