Hello,

I had a doubt regarding the trailing silence samples that are inserted
by the LAME encoder. I am using LAME 3.98.4 to encode a few wave
files. I see that the trailing silence (as indicated by the LAME
metadata) is often greater than 1152 samples. As per the explanation
given in http://lame.sourceforge.net/tech-FAQ.txt , for LAME versions
beyond lame3.56, the encoder should only insert the exact minimum
number of samples which from my understanding should not be greater
than 1152 samples. Please let me know if my understanding is correct
and if there is a reason I should be expecting more than 1152 inserted
silence samples in the encoded file.

Thanks
Raj
