Without the switches, the info for that preset says, "Very High Quality - usually averages around 192 kbps." Am I right in thinking the above settings still result in a 192 kbps file, but one smaller in size, and not as accurate audio. The -V switch controls VBR quality from 0-9 right? I'm wondering what technically is changed to attain the different levels of quality. I don't understand the -b frame size switch. What exactly is a frame? And how does varying its size affect the quality of the compressed audio? And can any of the Lame switches be used to override all of the presets?
