That particular tool is your ear. Some have a better hearing than you, some have a more poor hearing than you. It's all up to your ears. And as the medical science says - our ears aren't getting any better with time. They are getting worse actually. So, make some tests, check what's good for you and use that particular combination. Anything beyond that is just a waste of bits. With that in mind, getting software that does the comparison for you has no meaning at all. It is made for other purposes. Like showing that the Catalyst's encoder is broken or that the Winamp decoder was broken. It is good to give you some "scientific" proof of what you actually hear (noise, or some difference in dynamics). Bottom line: if you are looking for that hypotetic "better quality" just stick with the CDs.
