Thanks for the prompt reply.

It's not that I can't tell the number of messages unread/total.  The 
problem is I can't see it without loading the group.  It wastes time for 
something that looks like it was partially coded into the UI. (The 
little square that toggles the thread, subject, sender, read, and date 
also has toggles for unread and total, which really don't make sense in 
that window.)

Similarly, for the complete newsgroup name, I can't tell what it is 
without moving my mouse over the newsgroup and wait for a moment for the 
tool-tip to bring up the full name.  But at least there's a pref for 
this. :-)  Any chance the pref will make it into the Preferences Panel 
UI in the near future?
