It's likely that your mail is still there: N6's summary files
corrupt pretty easily. This means that yourmail is still there,
but Netscpe can't find them.
Close N6, and use FIND to locate "*.msf" (mail summary files)
Delete them.
Your lost email should reappear.
You can also copy the mail folders directly into Communicator
4.7x. The mail folders have no extension, and have the name of
what you see in the mail window: SENT, INBOX, etc. (remember to
rename them before moving them, or they will overwrite your
existing folders!)
