Invisible headers with modern theme

I just did a new Linux build this morning (datestamp 2001-03-09 
15:41:03) and my mail headers are now mostly white on a light grey 
background, which is essentially invisible. I couldn't find anything 
under Edit->Preferences to change this. Is there some way to change to 
a visible color?

This problem only occurs with the Modern theme. With both Classic and 
Blue, the same text is black and perfectly readable.
