Actually, that's ont of the reasons I'd like automatic folder
compacting. Mozilla doesn't really delete the mail. It just flags it as
deleted.
When you compact a folder, it actually deletes all the deleted messages.
So the problem won't arise again.
Then again, I suppose it would be logical to file a bug on this... ;-)

I'm using Mozilla 0.8 and find it quite usable now. Earlier versions
used to crash on me every 5 minutes, but now it seems quite stable.
I'm beginning to like it... :-)
