Handing of threads in tree view.

Under NS 4.x, the tree view allows you to select all the messages in a 
thread by selecting the "thread icon" (the left-most icon on the panel). 
Currently, the icon is there but selecting it does not have the same 
effect. Is this going to work and I would like to place my vote for this 
feature.
