Greg Garmer, who is a dear friend of both me and the Northeastern Minnesota birding community, has been reported missing. He has been a a long time member of the Duluth Audubon / Northeastern Minnesota Alliance and frequently went on sponsored outings such as the warbler walks. Greg rarely missed a chapter meeting. Yesterday afternoon Greg went ice skating on St. Louis Bay backwater ice, and likely broke through the ice and drowned. Greg loved the outdoors, and will be sorely missed. In addition, Greg is a retired Lutheran pastors and many Duluth churches are in a state of shock.
