I live in a condo association on the edge of a partially wooded wetland. A
neighbor's friend recently put up a Wood Duck house on a tree. There is no
predator guard and the tree is within easy reach of other tree trunks for
predators to obtain access.

I texted an article to my neighbor about the effectiveness of predator guards
and pole-placed boxes, but he replied that his friend thought it was too late
this year to remove the box and place it on a pole, as it may deter any duck
from selecting the box for nesting.

I would really like to deter any duck from using it, truth be told! Is there
any economical measures I could take to increase the odds of a successful
nesting should a female select this site? [I could probably encircle the tree
trunk that it's mounted on with a hug, to give you an idea of its girth; the
others are about 2/3's the size.]

Thanks for your suggestions!
