(Posted by Frank Gosiak <fgos...@gmail.com> via moumn.org) It was viewed South of Crane Meadows National Wildlife Area on Kettle Road going East from Iris Road, then, just past where County Road 429 intersects on the North-side of the road. I scared it off from near the road when driving and it flew over a bean field North to a fence line. It was definitely a large tan Falcon with ridged wing motion and a fast wing-beat. I thought it was gone when my nephew said it landed on a wooden fence post not to far East. There, I got to see it very well and watched it for about 15 minutes from various angles. Crow size(maybe a little longer wing span), tan mottled back of wings and body with a light colored underside and mottled more sparsely than a Peregrine. The mustache was thin and not as dark as in a Peregrine. It seemed to have a couple of darker patches under the wing when it flew. My nephew looked up a Prairie Falcon online and they looked like the same bird.
