Hi All,

I had an interesting experience yesterday near the Vadnais Lake reservoir
in Ramsey County. As suggested by the subject line, I think I heard a Blue
Jay mimicking a Ring-Billed Gull. I give a little bit more narrative in my
eBird checklist here: https://ebird.org/checklist/S66308727

Aside from the miscellaneous binks and bonks they make, I've heard Blue
Jays mimicking Red-tailed, Broad-winged, and Cooper's Hawks, but I've never
heard a non-raptor bird being mimicked. Apparently, this isn't without
precedence, either: https://z.umn.edu/blja_rbgu_pdf.

Am I mis-identifying this?
