We spent the day birding Sax-zim bog today and found the following species:
Boreal Owl (the bird on Cranberry Lane, about 1/4 mile north of Sax Rd on the east side - many thanks to Peter Kondrashov for texting us the location!) Northern Shrike (On Hwy 133, just west of CR 7) Black-billed Magpie (on Kolu Rd, near McDavitt) A flock of about 55 Snow Buntings (on CR 7, just north of Sax Rd) Pine Grosbeak (at the Blue Spruce Rd feeders) Gray Jay (many scattered throughout) Common Redpoll (at the Blue Spruce Rd feeders) Bald Eagle Downy Woodpecker Hairy Woodpecker Blue Jay American Crow Common Raven Black-capped Chickadee Red-breasted Nuthatch European Starling American Goldfinch We tried hard for the Boreal Chickadees at the Admiral Rd feeders, but had no luck.
