We had many red crossbills on a feeder Sunday on the north shore of Lake
Bemidji......not a common sight for us.

The Western Grebe originally found in early December at Agate Bay in Two
Harbors was still
present yesterday, the 19th. It was seen just out from the tip of the
breakwall.
The bird also was seen by other observers two weeks ago on January 4th.

Hello - The towhee has not shown himself for a day and a half now. I will
post again if he comes back. People are still welcome to come by and try if
they want to.

Bill Tefft and I observed the Harlequin Duck at 11:30 am January 20 2013.
We observed the bird from the L&D parking lot in Alma WI.
We had tried an hour earlier and could not locate it, but came back for one
more try. It took about 10 minutes this time before it just appeared, it
must have been feeding up near the roller gates as it frequently does.
