I got a late start today, but at 4pm I found the western kingbird at Westwood Nature Center. I then proceeded to Eloise Butler to look for the crossbills. I had a little trouble finding the spot but finally did. After waiting an hour, at 6pm the noisy red crossbills twice flew low over the spot reported but did not land while I was there. At least 25 including males.
