Observed a couple of Rough-legged Hawks attempting to catch helpful winds as they were apparently headed up the west fork of the Des Moines river this afternoon in the company of a Bald Eagle. If this wasn't sincere movement in the direction of the breeding grounds, it sure seemed like it. I have not previously observed any hanging out at Kilen Woods SP and I frequently hike there.
