This afternoon I found a second-winter Great Black-backed Gull at Agate Bay in downtown Two Harbors. It was standing on the short concrete pier west of the boat launch, with a Herring Gulls nearby for direct comparison. A first-winter bird was seen last week in Duluth.
The Townsend's Solitaire was relocated along 1st Street at Second Avenue, singing from the top of a spruce near the paved walking trail. A female Black-backed Woodpecker was seen along the dirt walking path on the east side of Lighthouse Point. A flock of 150 Bohemian Waxwings was along 2nd Avenue near Third Street.
