On Sat. 17 Nov. there were four female/juvenile White-winged Scoters at the far E end of Lake Pepin, viewed from the overlook off Hwy 61 just E of Camp Lacupolis, Wabasha Co. Today (Sun., 18 Nov.) three birds were at the same area, a bit closer to shore (a scope is necessary). Also this morning (18 Nov.), a Carolina Wren sang from the wooded hillside W of the parking area off Hwy 26 at the causeway at the S end of Pool 8, Reno, Houston Co. Also at Pool 8 were 195 Bald Eagles (nearly all from the new observation pulloff S of Brownsville), and over 4000 Tundra Swans.
