9/20/07, Started birding at lighthouse point in Two Harbors, turned up well
over 100 robins having quite a time of it gorging themselves on Mountain Ash,
which seems profuse on the trail that runs along the point- Bring on the
bohemian waxwings:), two sharp shinned hawks flew low and over the trail while
I
beheld the robins.
One red tailed hawk perched on top of a 15ft conifer by knife river. Four
horned larks at Knife River Marina.
16 Snow Buntings at the Breakwater at Minnesota Point. Also on the
breakwater were 9 skiddish Sanderlings. There were approx. 15 black bellied
plovers
at Minnesota Point as previously posted, they were primarily drawn to the
newly flooded soccer fields, at dusk they were gone, and so was I. A decent
day
with some strange glowing orb in the sky, very odd in these parts recently.
