In Richfield, at Veterans' Memorial Park, this morning: a n. harrier, male, swooping over the marsh
At Carpenter Nature Center, Hastings, on the St. Croix this afternoon: a pair of redtail hawks circling the field, several bald eagles soaring over river and bluffs, two e. meadowlarks doing call and response, a ruffed grouse, flushed from the treeline and skimming over the prairie grasses, a pheasant heard calling by the old cemetery, a couple of song sparrows feeding in the treeline, killdeer heard calling in flight, bluebirds singing atop the parking-lot spruce So many more places to check, so little time!
