A total of 25 PLEGADIS IBIS were documented by Peder Svingen and Jeanie Joppru on August 19th in Big Stone and Lac Qui Parle counties over the weekend. A flock of seventeen was found in a wetland along state highway 28 west of Graceville on the 19th, and five were at Big Stone NWR on the 20th. One was along Big Stone County Road 61, about four and a half miles south of state highway 28; one was along Big Stone County Road 64, about a mile east of U.S. Highway 75 and across the road from Munnwyler Lake; and one was at Big Stone NWR on the west side of the road to the Low Flow area off Big Stone County Road 21. Dave Grosshuesch reported an immature/female LARK BUNTING on the 19th at Split Rock Lighthouse State Park in Lake County. It was seen on the lawn and rocks directly in front of the lighthouse. Patrick Beauzay found a PRAIRIE FALCON on the 17th at Hamden Slough NWR in Becker County. From the refuge headquarters go east on county road 104 until the road curves to the north. At the crest of the hill, look for the mudflat and dead trees to the west. Denny Martin found a CAROLINA WREN on the 20th along the stream in the south central part of Courthouse Park in St. Mary's Township of Waseca County. Interestingly, this is close to where Julian Sellers found this same species in early November of 2005. Jim Pomplun found a male BLACK-THROATED BLUE WARBLER on the 24th near the end of the bluff trail at Old Cedar Bridge in Bloomington, Hennepin County. Among the other warbler reported recently were BAY-BREASTED WARBLER, CANADA WARBLER, TENNESSE WARBLER, MOURNING WARBLER and CONNECTICUT WARBLER. I also have reports of RUBY-THROATED HUMMINGBIRD, OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER, and SWAINSON'S THRUSH.
