Observations from the last week (Sherburne, Mille Lacs, Benton, Aitkin Counties):
* Numerical audibilizations & observations of species down about 15% from most of summer * Warblers beginning to flock together (although no obvious migrants) * Shorebirds slow, even predictable (CR2, Milaca ponds, Gilman, Foley, Rice Lake, Aitkin CR 15/no water) * Purple Martins flocking * Driving tour of Aitkin on Saturday AM rather quiet (169, 15, 18, 5 & Rice Lake - few shorebirds & notables at latter) * But the cool of the morning walks & drives more than make up for the slowness! Good birding to all. Al Schirmacher Princeton, MN Mille Lacs & Sherburne Counties
