I am having a problem with the new designer on my laptop. I installed VS2010, sp1 and then I installed version 4.2.4. I created a new project. When I double clicked the main.axml file, I got the standard xml editor. I right clicked the file, and the designer is not listed.
Also, in the mono toolbar, the drop down for selecting the device to use for debugging is disabled. When I debug, the android device manager comes up and I can select my phone. The drop down is still disabled. However I can debug the app just fine. If I launch monodevelop, I do get the designer as I expect. It works fine on my desktop, not on my laptop which I just installed. I did activate it by the way. I'm not sure where to even look for this problem. I also tried uninstalling visual studio, the android sdk, and mono. I then reinstalled everything with the same results.
