Linking only knows about static information, and doesn't understand/follow Reflection, so if the only use of a member is via Reflection, then the member WILL NOT be preserved when everything is linked. This is called out in the linker example: http://docs.xamarin.com/android/advanced_topics/linking#Linker_Behavior The above example will work with the Don't Link and Link SDK Assemblies options, and will fail with the Link All Assemblies behavior, generating the following error...
