Don't worry about this type of stuff guys. I've been on both sides of the product line, so there are reasons for it. People on the product side are tired of being asked the same question a bunch of times. I never answered back "It will be ready after I have some sleep and am confident that it is going to be a successful product" but I thought about it several times. If the Jonathans' (and others) screamed out at us, they would not offend me. Product producers are (should be?) driven by quality goals. On the client side, consumers are driven by dates. When will something be available. Customers, editors, and such want to know when. Trust me, I've been on this side as well. I just went through this last fall with Wrox. They don't like having to push things back either. Some customers just aren't comfortable with a product that says alpha or beta on it There's obviously give and take in all of this. @Tomasz: I do understand that it can be quite annoying to have people always asking "when is it ready? when will it come out?". I am also on the other end, so I do understand that, I live with that feeling everyday. Though, like I said, one has to understand both sides, it's only natural to want the better, improved version, now. Xamarin is doing a great job yes, and I believe we are all proud of this team, both on development and on support. And about the Alpha, yes, I know, I am using it. Though, like I said before, I'm not going all out for production with an alpha version. I play with it, see if I can find bugs but then I wait for the stable version. Whenever I see a question asking about when something is done, I feel something rising up inside me. I am used to work on projects where asking for release dates is not nice and you will just get that same answer I gave you. I am sure that Xamarin is working hard on getting 4.2 out! But when someone is asking when something is released because they have a problem with something instead of filing bugs... @Goncalo: You can already use that with 4.1, I know it is an alpha, but it works quite stable. I am not saying that you should use it for production yet, but you can prepare a lot of things for when 4.2 comes out!
