Is it working now? Have you tried to rotate a simple Example only with a textview or Something, i will take a look tomorrow at it, how the old mono works by me but if i remember correctly i had the issues with rotation handling and forgotten context or invalid activities with monodroid 1.2 and worked a solution for me. That RunOnUIThread runs on the current thread and not on an old one.
