We have another support request where someone running an Acer Iconia tablet A100 is unable to use WebClient.DownloadString() when connecting to an https site. I'm starting to think that there is a hardware (-ish?) problem with Acer tablets. :-/ What would be interesting would be to try the equivalent code in Java and see if that works (and/or using the Java types, if they're exposed in Mono for Android). Is it a hardware problem? A Bionic (Android libc) problem? Something else?
