I've attached some sample code for implementing an option menu. Create a folder under resources called "menu". Then create a new xml file similar to the main_menu file attached. Be sure to change the build action on the xml file to "AndroidResource".
See the attached MyActivity class to implement your menu. If you want to use the same menu on multiple activities, consider abstracting a base activity to implement your menu.
